Spain - Police Shoot ‘Allahu Akbar’ Knifeman After Terrorist Strike Anniversary
Exactly one day after the anniversary of the Barcelona and Cambrils terrorist attacks, Barcelona police were this morning attacked by a terrorist running towards them with a knife and shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ (God is great). The Barcelona police, called the Mossos, declared that they shot the man but declined to confirm early reports in the Spanish press that the man has been killed.
The drama happened around 6am at a police station in Cornella on the outskirts of the Catalan capital. Regional Mossos d'Esquadra police said in a tweet: “A man armed with a knife has accessed the police station in Cornella this morning with the aim of attacking officers. He has been taken out.”
