I feel like the cross is used against us. Because the reality for a true born-again Christian according to God's word has nothing to do with a cross.

First of all, Jesus was crucified on a tree.

Secondly, He rose after the 3 days and 3 nights of being in the sepulcur.

Thirdly, after 40 days and after being seen by thousands, He ascended through the heavenlies (right in front of his disciples eyes) and is currently seated at the right hand of God.

With all this why should we be concentrating ONLY on his death and crucifiction?

Because…

1.) Then you won't concentrate on everything else He accomplished for man, namely defeating death itself.

2.) To them, I think it is like they are crucifying him affresh over and over again at each Sunday service - that is sick!

3.) They are trying to negate His power and authority by keeping him on that cross.

Even when we pray we are instructed by God to pray to God, in the name of Jesus Christ.

The reason we needed a mediator is because when man fell (Adam) he lost that connection with God. He lost the Holy Spirit that makes it possible for us to directly communicate with Him. Jesus Christ brought back that ability to have Holy Spirit again and be able to not just communicate with God, but have a very close and personal relationship with your Heavenly Father, your Abba Father. Not only that, but you can and should manifest Holy Spirit as well which includes receiving words of wisdom and knowledge directly from God. Now that is powerful! You are no longer on your knees begging a God that you do not know, but you are his son/daughter coming to the throne of grace with boldness to receive help in time of need.

There's so much more to what Jesus Christ accomplished - it's all in God's written word.

Right! They don't want you to realize that you don't need them at all actually. They are trying to take the place of God and Jesus CHrist in your life. Wow! How bad is that?

I should have also mentioned the day of Pentecost - in the books of Acts (first two chapters). This is the completion of what JC accomplished - in that Holy Spirit was made available to ALL men that believed. This Holy Spirit power is really what they want to keep you away from.

Why in the world would the pope say that believing in JC is dangerous????

Wrong!!! That's the lies they want you to believe so that you will not have power over the adversary.

Look at it for yourself.

II Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

The phrase "given by inspiration of God" literally in the Greek is theopneustos - God Breathed!!!

I guess you have to work it out for yourself.

I told a friend once, who was raised Catholic and also didn't believe in the bible, to read it and find a promise from God, then prove God for yourself and ask Him for that promise.

Years later he had leukemia and ended up marrying a Christian girl that I had tried to get him to at least date her, she was so in love with him. This happened, them marrying, way after we had worked together, so I had nothing to do with it.

She started reading the word to him and he asked God for one of his promises and God delivered!!!

So, all I can say to you is that it is a personal journey that I hope and pray you take!

God Bless you!!

It takes studying it really, not just reading it casually like a fiction novel.

Study to show thyself approved of God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth!

It can take a whole lifetime of study and learning .
