A United States Army helicopter which was flying to Connecticut had to make emergency landings Monday afternoon in Festus, Mo. because of strong showers and storms, the Connecticut National Guard said.

The military chopper made the emergency landing in the parking lot of Taytro’s Bar and Bistro. It was one of the four CH-47 Chinook helicopters with the 1-169 General Support Aviation Battalion that were returning from training at Fort Irwin in California.
