I have just heard as large number of messages on the USAF STRATCOM frequency of 11.175MHz. The messages are not the usual traffic.

They are sending 3-letter code groups. ABC DEF ZYW for example. Some of the sending stations appear to be aircraft.

The EAMs are sent from ground stations and have the preamble "SKYKING SKYKING DO NOT ANSWER."

Normal NON-EAM messages are long sets of alpha codes.

This traffic is notable because I've not heard it in many months of listening. The message type is called a 274.

I'm now hearing another station call asking for a repeat of the last message.

This is quite unusual.

I monitor it most of the time when I'm not transmitting.

So yes, when I'm not otherwise engaged, I listen to this frequency.
