Donald Trump: Democrats Want America to Be ‘One Big Fat Sanctuary City for Criminal Aliens’

President Donald Trump criticized Democrats on Tuesday for blocking his efforts for tough immigration enforcement.

“The Democrats want to turn America into one big fat sanctuary city for criminal aliens,” Trump said during a rally in West Virginia with a group of supporters.

The crowd booed the Democrats loudly as Trump continued.

“Honestly, they are more protective of the criminal aliens than they are of the people,” he said.

Trump said he was committed to deporting criminal illegal immigrants, but that Democrats wanted to do the opposite. He criticized Democrats for calling for the abolishment of ICE, while ICE officers deported a former Nazi from the United States on Tuesday morning.

Trump also mocked New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo for saying in a speech that America was never great.

“America was never great, that’s the Democrats’ new theme,” he said.

Trump urged his supporters to vote in the 2018 midterm elections to sustain his promise of tough immigration and border enforcement.

“At the beating heart of this election is border security,” he said. “We have to have it.”

Facebook, Twitter Remove Hundreds of Pages Tied to Iran

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Facebook removed more than 650 pages and accounts for inauthentic behavior that can be linked to Iran, the social media giant said in a statement. Twitter also announced deleting 284 accounts, many of which, according to the social medium, originated from Iran.

"We’ve removed 652 Pages, groups and accounts for coordinated inauthentic behavior that originated in Iran and targeted people across multiple internet services in the Middle East, Latin America, UK and US," the release said on Tuesday.

Facebook also announced removal in a separate move of pages that, according to US government, might be linked to Russian intelligence. "Finally, we’ve removed Pages, groups and accounts that can be linked to sources the US government has previously identified as Russian military intelligence services. This is unrelated to the activities we found in Iran," social media giant said.

Another social media giant Twitter also removed more than 280 accounts for coordinated manipulation including a number that originated from Iran, according to social media company's statement.

"Working with our industry peers today, we have suspended 284 accounts from Twitter for engaging in coordinated manipulation," the release said on Tuesday. "Based on our existing analysis, it appears many of these accounts originated from Iran."

Tiny Victorian community battles multinational company over bottled water

Amid a severe drought in Australia, a storm is brewing over a multinational drinks company which is bottling a tiny Victorian community’s water.

Stanley, in the north-east of the state, is home to 370 people and long-established fruit and nut orchards.

Growers there depend on local groundwater to harvest crops of cherries, walnuts and chestnuts.

But every year, 19 million litres of water is taken from a bore operated by landowner -– Stanley Pastoral – and trucked to Albury in NSW, where it is bottled by Asahi.

An online petition by global consumer advocacy group SumOfUs is calling for an end to the water extraction. To date, it has attracted more than 120,000 signatures.
