Dig on Michael Hastings, Brennan and a new twist on "Follow the Wives"

Michael Hastings was working on a story about John Brennan, according to his wife, at the time of his death at 4:20 am.

The following article links to a San Diego tv news report which showed surveillance video of the accident and its 3, count 'em - 3!, explosions and talks about police stalling on releasing information, even though they closed the investigation in two days ruling out foul play (nothing to see here):

Daily Mail hit piece on Hastings after the crash, changed the time to 4:25 (coded messages?), and introduced his wife of two years, Elise Jordan:

Jordan, also a fairly credentialed political commentator (for what legitimate reason I can't make out), was also a speech writer for Condoleeza Rice 2008-2009 and is a current contributing analyst for (((TIME))) and other publications as well as hosting a podcast:
