Russia built a cruise missile powered by a nuke reactor. The only reactor type that has ever been used to power an airplane is molt salt reactor. most uranium based reactors need coolant (typically water) which vaporizes away over time and are too heavy, making them limited and impractical.

Both the US and Russia build prop driven bombers sized aircraft that ran on molten salt reactors. (thorium based).

the revalation that russian has developed one small enough to power a cruise missile motor proves how far molten salt reactors have come.

But you can't have a thorium salt reactor that produces power for a fraction of the cost of fossil fuels. All civi reactors have to be huge, expensive and water intensive so it doesn't destroy the Gas and Oil cabal.

Remember when trump was elected he promised to make advanced tech available to the public? Don't think the US hasn't or can't develop cheap safe nuclear power for all.
