I don't think anybody believes Mueller is a "white hat."
The question is whether he has cut himself a deal in exchange for playing his part.
So what's their game? If they know they're dead to rights, why fight to the end?

Is anybody concerned that the Plan may be to blow things open after midterms rather than before? I.e., they could miscalculate on the politics and effectively lose their capacity to act?
