It's conceivable to me that Sessions accepted the job to line up the legal strategy, basically behind the scenes, be a placeholder for the set time period, then bounce out the door to a happy retirement back to Alabama or Seaside or wherever, dust himself off and consider it a job well done. He's retirement age, certainly.
If Rosenstein's as dirty as I think he is, he'll just have to go away mad.
