This. My view on this so feel free to disregard because it is overtly generalizing

Boomers generally worked hard and had it pretty good. Their parents had it tough though and boomers remembered that.

Kids of the boomers had it very good because of their hardworking parents but these kids aka Gen X. didn't have to work as hard so they generally started assuming that this is how the world works.

Gen X had kids and ended up coddling them because well the world is great and will always be this way per their experience. And now we have a bunch of crybabies running around with im special and I am entitled to everything attitudes.
