A few thoughts come to mind:

  1. The "feminine ideal" is/always has been a constantly changing perception of "female beauty". Tends to be based on geographic, environmental, economic and social variables, right? Therefore, it's subjective and impossible to pin down.

  2. How FORTUNATE we are to live in 2018 and are able to create and live our own lives. Or at least have the opportunity to create circumstances that support living our own lives!

Pretty awesome, as I see it.

I do agree that there is a connection between healthier, happier children and a nurturing mamma at home. (And a loving father who wants to provide for his family!)

I think we were lucky to have grown up in a university community - I had, like, 2 friends whose moms worked outside of the house. One was a physician and the other one was an admin.
