Current spitball is that there is a genetic deficiency in a bloodline(s) and this has been the "cure" for centuries. All hush-hush of course.

Bet if we compared the mineral content of the waters in the areas of Arkansas, Hungary & Crimea, we'd find similarities. Sodium content, maybe?
