-The chans (using the term loosely) were responsible for winning the first battle in the culture war with Gamer's Gate.
-They were also very important in getting Trump's message around social media filters and dropping tons of meme's to bypass the social conditioning of people.
-Trump is known to be extremely loyal and it would make sense to payback that loyalty somehow.
-MI knows that they can't win a traditional media battle
-The chans are known as one of the last places where free speech can happen and an unfiltered message can get out and be discussed and argued
-MI knows exactly were a cluster of people are that will listen, learn and spread that message in a way that it can't be stopped.
-It was such a bad idea that everyone in the media is now talking about it and the message is spreading world wide with no end in sight despite massive social media filtering.
