I think he is one of the actors in the play. He never named Trump by name. I think the candidate he was referring to was Hillary. He secretly recorded a conversation with someone from Hillary's campaign where they said they would pay him $130,000 to record a conversation with Trump about paying off Stormy. Cohen is probably guilty of crimes, but he will be pardoned by Trump for the service he provided to his country. Cohen is definitely taking a risk and will be doing time until he is pardoned.
