I have a program from a couple of decades back called BinaryTextScan.exe that works well for this, I've done a quick look around for it and the closest I've found online these days is

https://www.antionline.com/showthread.php?245747-Binary-Text-Scan

>This program works like a read-only filtering text editor (or the GUI "strings" command, if you use Unix). You point it to a binary file, such as an executable or DLL, and it will scan it for sequences of bytes that look like text strings. It will display the file offset and the string in a list, which you can read, scan, or export. Very Windows friendly, supporting resizing and drag-and-drop operations. Handy for discovering hidden messages in files or searching for names in save game or game data files."

>The above was stolen straight from the person who wrote the program. It's on his webpage (https://www.netninja.com/projects.php).

I still have it, I'm just trying to find it online so others can use the tool

permanent bans?

I thought you'd figured out that wasn't a viable tactic in the majority of cases

Please explain exactly what that anon did to be banned.
