This is a report from a HAM volunteer to Puerto Rico last year. It was posted to reddit but deleted under "pressure." Other reports corroborate his story which is the opposite of ARRL's PR campaign. ARRL didn't take the mission seriously. The CEO quit a few months later with a fig leaf excuse. Yet the Puerto Rico effort is the basis of spending a lot of money to lobby Congress, money ARRL cannot justify given their current finances and fleeing membership. In the past three years a number of ARRL directors and other elected officials were deposed or prevented from reelection despite loud and sustained objections from clubs and members. Former officials will not speak. NDA? Threats? Corp lawyer Chris Imlay seems to make all significant decisions and author all public correspondence later rubberstamped. What are they doing? Why are they hiding it? Where does the lobbying money go?
It almost goes without saying many HAMS are former C_A, No Such Agency and MI operatives or analysts but present ARRL leadership is not. Many current directors are actual losers with no accomplishments but appointed to their offices. White Hat vs Black Hat? Why? It's just HAM RADIO.
