I may be nuts, but i want no name alive. From my view, having no name alive and in the posession and control of white hats is a most optimal situation. One that would for all practical purposes guarantee victory AND keep the ds from any script deviating fukkery while on the road to victory. IF he is alive, the threat of his re-emergence would give them no peace whatsoever as any explanation would bring the whole charade to an end.
