No. We were created in His image, but Satan rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven into the Earth. He corrupted us against God's original creation (sin). Because God is perfect, we could no longer be in His presence. But because God loved us, He sought to reconcile us to Him. Since Satan had brought all of the nations of the Earth into worshipping him through paganism, God had to separate a nation apart to reveal Himself and re-establish a relationship with us. Eventually, God came to live as a man in the form of Christ to undo what Adam had done. By this, he assumed the right to salvage us from our sin, if we chose to believe on his sacrifice.
If God had not separated Israel apart as a nation to worship Him uniquely, He would have become lost among the pantheon of gods that other nations were worshipping. See the Samaritans.
Paul said all of Israel will be saved. But Jesus told the 'Jews' you do not believe because you are not my sheep.
