Another good reason to end US Foreign AID abroad…
The massive corruption and misappropriation of billions by government sanctioned aid programs following the major earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010 reminds me of the 2008 MTV Presidential Debate when Ron Paul successfully defeated Barack Obama by winning over youth voters in addressing the question of whether the US should provide financial and military assistance to then ongoing conflict in Ruanda.
As seen in this clip, Paul eloquently explained why such aid efforts not only lack constitutional authority, but also never work because the aid is most often coopted by contracted aid organizations and/or worse by paramilitary forces which then utilize the aid to further oppress the very people we were trying to help.
