And so am I. Between Kennedy and Trump I didn't vote because I didn't see anyone worth voting for. Gerald Ford came close. Ron Paul didn't last long enough.
I also didn't see any way to get involved opposing them. I was raising two sons as a single Dad (unfit Mom abandoned them), working some nut-busting hours as a RR conductor (11 years PennilessCentral and Conrail) only to be severed when Congress passed a law that killed my job in my mid-20s just as the country hit the economic skids (ever try raising a family on 7-11 pay and door to door / party plan sales of vanilla extract?), and dealing with my own alcohol addictions.
That's a pretty bleak situation. I had my own battles to fight and had nothing left to fight the political one.
But my sons are raised and doing reasonably well with families of their own, I took a disability retirement due to multiple back injuries (twice paralyzed) and I have overcome my addictions – all of them. (see >>2743591 in bread 3465 – I could sign it).
So now this boomer has the time and energy to turn his attention to politics.
