It does smell like a ploy to get the normie vidya gaems and streamer crowds to turn against the 2A. I watch a handful of Twitch streamers often, including a few who pull in a few thousand viewers a session, and they largely remain apolitical for very good reason. So if in the coming weeks we start to see streamers/e-celebs trying to push any semblance of gun control, then it's MKultra mission success.

Luckily I've only seen these kneejerk responses coming from gaming venues who want to screen guests. Annoying on its own, but many of the ones I've been to already do bag checks/metal detectors so it's a moot point. And some YouTubers are standing firm that the shooter David Katz already had screws loose in his head, whereas others (particularly ones from outside the USA) are immediately going to the "ermagerd ban 2A control ur guns murrica" confirmation bias.

The debate is certainly ignited once again, that much is certain. News outlets are gonna try to work all the usual divisive angles like "all video games are violent" and "video gamers are murderous incels" and so on. They want to dig their claws into the old Gamergate crowds in a desperate effort to erode their trust in the 2A. Might work on more normie/casual types, but to those of the /v/irgin stock, it's unlikely.

I'd like to think the Trump administration may be quietly helping out AMLO in making things right for Mexico. There's been stories popping up of the usual cartels suffering setbacks in recent months. Guess all those free guns from that cunt Eric Holder aren't helping like they used to.

The more the quality-of-life improves for Mexico (and boy do they need it,) the less incentivization to try and jump our border. Combine that with our border wall ambition and it's a win-win for both the USA and Mexico.
