National Socialism itself was never the issue, god multiple Nordic countries basically have utilized it for decades.. until some of them started throwing out the nationalistic component anyway.
I suspect he got way outside of their control/plan in that 14 year span. That NatSoc Germany was way more than they bargained for so they had to drag the US into the conflict to stop it. I don't think that was part of the plan.

I have never been convinced about the South America narrative, but open to changing my view if we can be pointed to something more substantial.
Yeah I have seen that but it was pretty dubious based on some accounts and not something those files confirmed.
