Graham: The Trump, Sessions relationship is 'beyond repair'
Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Tuesday that the relationship between President Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions can't be repaired, and that it's now time to think about replacing Sessions.
“We need an attorney general that can work with the president, that can lead the Department of Justice. This relationship is beyond repair,” Graham said.
Graham said the contentious relationship goes “much deeper” than Sessions recusing himself from overseeing the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, which opened the door for special counsel Robert Mueller’s appointment. Trump has referred to the investigation as a witch hunt.
“We won’t say on this show, but it’s a pretty deep breach,” Graham said. “He’s not the only man in the country that can be attorney general. He’s a fine man. I’m not asking him to be fired, but the relationship is not working.”
