Mercer was one of the first to resign but Simons donations were extremely small to D's in comparison + Simons also donated to R's. You also have to take into account the many cases filed against the groups that never stuck. My hunch is these groups were protected. Which side was protecting them is still not clear.
There is also the case where one of the major players died suspiciously. I'd have to go back through my notes to find the name.
I have found it odd though that these 2 groups have never come up in any Q posts even though they the biggest analytic groups in the world.
