They may have been funded with American Taxpayer Dollars, but it is not converted to a public utility..at this point and time, doesn't matter who funded matters who's name is on the "ownership deed" so to speak.
Have you looked into Sergey Brin, not in the the daily op's but certain he retains ownership…Stocks is another way to find out , majority ownership, ect.
