Manafort will be tried in the capital in front of federal judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, on charges including lobbying law violations

Judge agreed to short delay to start of trial until end of September and will hold jury selection in secret, quizzing jurors on any social media mentions of the case

His lawyers sought a deal with prosecutors on those charges during last week's trial, the Wall Street Journal reported

Trump last week suggested 'flipping' by witnesses should perhaps be illegal
