Data/Electronic Spillage definition:

When data of any form is moved from as protected system and introduced into a system that does not afford it the same or higher level of protection as the system from which it originally resided.

In the case of classified information:

When data that is classified at one level is placed onto a system or network that is protected at a lower or unclassified network.

If I knew that foreign agents were monitoring/had infiltrated a system or network that wasn't properly secured or was classified at a lower level, would I even need to email classified information to these foreign agents directly or simply send it to a friend knowing it would be compromised in transit?
