Jewish-American and long time "alt news" blogger Ron Unz writes a long piece about Holocaust revisionism challenging many of the historical assumptions usually taught. One of his theses is that it was actually the Soviets, not the Nazis who killed most of Jews in German POW camps. The article has become controversial to say the least, but it i blowing up among alt new and libertarian circles.

I personally disagree with his thesis that Soviets killed the Jews, at the least lions share of them anyway. I believe that most died of starvation and disease (typhus), as they are the two biggest killers in human history by far. It is surprisingly difficult, if not logistically impossible to kill hundreds of thousands or millions of in the way they said they did. The biggest Communist death tolls from Stalin and Mao all came from famines, and the Spanish Flu alone killed more people after WWI than all the battle death and civilian casualties combined. After German's supply lines were cut, as it was being attacked by three Superpowers, the average German civilian looked no different from the pictures they show schoolchildren of the Holocaust.

However, the Soviets could have simply let them all die when they "liberated" the camps for a variety of practical, strategic, and propaganda purposes.
