August 28:
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity. But these you should have done, without neglecting the others. Blind guides, who strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!

Most relevant perhaps:
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6).
But as for those young people, this promise: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4).
[Yet too for laity (1 Samuel 22:15): "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams…"]
Let us also note Scripture (Job 29): “The earth, though out of it comes forth bread, is in fiery upheaval underneath…”
