You need to remember back in Augus 2017, China was still a hostage to NK and their nukes.
Trump made a visit specifically to China and they bestowed the highes possible honor for an outsider - they welcomed him to the Forbidden Palace, the only man from the West to ever be welcomed there.
Why? Because Trump promised to free them.

Considering Trump worked with Putin in Syria and they definitely had some good contacts re: kicking Roths' asses, I'm thinking some sort of gambit may be in play w/regards to additional deployment of ballistic/cruise missiles. This may be a play at NK, since any additional deployments would have to be on their side of the Pacific, close to NK. Unsure, however, of how Russia plays this. They really can't afford any additional economic sanctions.
