69 suspects arrested on sex trade charges for by the Houston Police Department Vice Division

The Houston Police Department Vice Division released the mugshots of 69 suspects arrested and charged for allegedly engaging in human trafficking either as pimps or johns.

Charged with the suppression of "prostitution, illegal gambling, human trafficking, sexually oriented business enforcement, and Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) code violations, the Vice Division worked through the summer to help diminish the sex trade business in Houston.

In a press release, HPD Vice Division Captain James Dale stated, "We hope by publishing these suspects' photos we will raise awareness of the issue that is human trafficking and put the community on notice that we will no longer tolerate these crimes in our neighborhoods."

Canada's Trudeau says NAFTA deal possible by Friday

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Wednesday that it may be possible to reach a deal on NAFTA ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's Friday deadline.

"We recognize that there is a possibility of getting there by Friday, but it is only a possibility, because it will hinge on whether or not there is ultimately a good deal for Canada," he said at a press conference in northern Ontario. "No NAFTA deal is better than a bad NAFTA deal."

“At what point [does it] become unacceptable for Yemeni children and innocent civilians to be killed with American weapons,” a reporter from Al Jazeera asked.

“That’s a strange way to characterize the question, being that we didn’t start the war,” Mattis interjected. “And I think we have to look at here is probably can we get this to the U.N. brokered peace table that the U.N. special envoy is trying to get it to.”

Probe into Manhattan DA's handling of Weinstein case on hold

NEW YORK (AP) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo has directed the state attorney general's office to suspend its probe into whether the Manhattan district attorney mishandled 2015 allegations of sexual misconduct by Harvey Weinstein.

A spokeswoman for Attorney General Barbara Underwood confirmed Wednesday that the investigation was put on temporary hold this summer on the orders of the Democratic governor.

The spokeswoman, Amy Spitalnick, said the investigation into Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.'s handling of the Weinstein case was suspended to avoid interfering with Vance's ongoing prosecution of Weinstein. "We remain committed to conducting a comprehensive, fair, and independent review," Spitalnick added.
