In his email, Comey might have tried to warn that Trump is going to learn about the sell off of secrets to China via PDBs (not knowing that DJT, most likely, already knew). It triggered a fake news storm, trying to establish the narrative that the PDB are not all that important, in the hope of casting a shade of doubt over this particular piece of intelligence.
