Trump: No Need for Expensive War Games with South Korea

A statement released by the White House on Tuesday reveals that US President Donald Trump no longer believes that joint war games with South Korea are not necessary at present time and that China is placing a "tremendous" amount of pressure on North Korea.

The statement, which was shared on Trump's Twitter page, reads, "North Korea is under tremendous pressure from China because of our major trade disputes with the Chinese government."

On the matter of the war games, the release also indicated that if POTUS chooses to do so, he would "instantly" restart the joint exercises. "Nonetheless, the president believes that his relationship with [North Korean leader] Kim Jong Un is a very good and warm one, and there is no reason at this time to be spending large amounts of money on joint US-South Korea war games. Besides, the president can instantly start the joint exercises again with South Korea, and Japan," the statement says.

Globalist Macron Vows to Kill Nationalism, While Italy’s Salvini Declares EU ‘Filth’

Emmanuel Macron has vowed a globalist bloc determined to impose a progressive EU superstate on the continent will defeat “extremist” pro-national sovereignty conservatives at European Parliament elections next year.

Declaring that the world is at a “moment of great transformations”, the French President outlined his vision for a “European sovereignty” in which Brussels would have autonomy comparable to that of China or the United States of America.

Europe must become “the model for a humanist refoundation of globalisation”, he told the annual French ambassadors’ conference Monday, vowing to “redouble efforts” against patriotic conservative parties in the face of a world “where nationalisms have reawakened”.

San Jose bishop now regrets letting diocese buy him a $2.3M house; plans to sell it following outcry

The Diocese of San Jose purchased a $2.3 million home for retiring Bishop Patrick J. McGrath last winter. Now that the real estate deal has been made public, McGrath says he won’t be moving in after all.

Why did they buy him a $2.3M home?

According to a statement released by the bishop Monday, McGrath originally planned to occupy a home located on a diocesan-owned cemetery. But the cost of “retrofitting” would have been too expensive. Therefore, the Diocesan Finance Council and College of Consultors gave the nod for purchasing a home using funds “primarily” from the sale of another bishop’s condo.

“I erred in judgment in the purchase of a 5-bedroom home for $2.3 million,” McGrath said. “I failed to consider adequately the housing crisis in this valley and the struggles of so many families and communities in light of that crisis.”

Both the diocese and McGrath initially defended the purchase of the Silicon Valley home. Diocese communications director Liz Sullivan told the Mercury News, which first reported the home purchase, that “the Diocese of San Jose is responsible for paying for the Bishop’s housing and its costs for upkeep when he retires.”

Given the rising home prices in the area, McGrath told the Mercury News, “When I’m not around any more, the house can be sold. It’s a good investment in that sense. It probably makes more money this way than if it were in the bank.”

What changed?

The Mercury News also exposed the fact that just months ago, the San Jose Diocese asked parishioners to cough up funds to fill in a $247 million “financial hole” due to underfunded priest pensions and other debts.

Martha Franks, a Mountain View Catholic, criticized the timing of the purchase.

“Jesus teaches us not to be selfish with our treasure here on earth,” she said. “That’s why the decision for the bishop to buy a $2.3 million home for his sole use was shocking — knowing there is a financial shortfall for his fellow priests’ retirement.”

Now what?

McGrath said in his statement that the diocese will be listing the house for sale as soon as possible and will donate any profit to Charities Housing, which is a division of Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County.

Upon retirement, the bishop now plans to live in a rectory at one of the diocese parishes.

WV-Sen: Joe Manchin claims ‘not one penny’ of tax money goes to fund abortions at Planned Parenthood

West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin defended his recent vote against an amendment to defund Planned Parenthood with a claim that tax money doesn’t go to pay for abortions.

The incumbent Democrat who’s facing a tough re-election bid against Republican Patrick Morrisey told MetroNews’ “Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval” that he couldn’t vote to take away funding from a clinic in West Virginia that “provides health care, preventative health care for women and mostly young females.”

“I am pro-life, and I think everyone knows,” Manchin said during the interview. “Look at my record. I voted with Lindsey Graham on the 21-week ban on abortions, I voted for everything, and so I could not take funding away when I knew the funding was not used for abortions.”

Last year, Planned Parenthood received $543.7 million in federal funding and grants, which amounts to nearly 40 percent of its revenue, according to its 2016-17 annual report. It performed 321,384 abortions between Oct. 1, 2015, and Sept. 30, 2016, the report showed.

The Senate version of the amendment to an appropriations package failed 45-48 on Aug. 23 in the Senate. If passed, it would have stopped taxpayer dollars from going to Planned Parenthood and other providers that perform abortions.

==MUELLER’S REVENGE=Special Counsel May Retry Paul Manafort on 10 Deadlocked Charges in Third Trial==

Mueller’s team of prosecutors asked for more time in deciding whether to retry Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort on 10 of the deadlocked charges.

Last week, after four days of deliberations, a jury reached a verdict on 8 counts and could not make a decision on 10 counts in the tax evasion and bank fraud case against Paul Manafort.

Judge T.S. Ellis, a Reagan appointee declared a mistrial on 10 counts.

The jury found Manafort guilty on 8 counts, including 5 tax fraud charges, 1 charge of hiding foreign bank accounts, and two counts of bank fraud.

On Wednesday, Mueller’s team filed a motion asking for more time and noted they are waiting for Manafort’s defense lawyers to file their post-trial motions, reported Politico.

“The government does not at this time have sufficient information to make an informed decision on whether it will seek retrial of the remaining counts,” prosecutors wrote. They noted Manafort’s team had no objection to the delay.

‘Manafort is evaluating all of his options at this point,’ defense lawyer Kevin Downing told reporters outside of the Alexandria, VA courthouse last week.

Paul Manafort faces up to 80 years in prison after the jury found him guilty on 8 felony charges.

A second trial in Washington D.C. which is set to begin September 24th (after a delay) can bring additional charges and prison time for Manafort.

Two trials isn’t enough for Mueller and his team of 17 angry Democrats; they won’t rule out going after Manafort in a THIRD TRIAL. Unbelievable.

The President said last week he is considering issuing a pardon for Paul Manafort.
