Non linear was is fought with psychoactive weapons.

Some weapons are explicit or exoteric, these are logical arguments, linked concepts, facts and evidence which accumulate to form a world view.

There are other psychoactive weapons the public is not aware of. These weapons are "magic" meaning they target the far more powerful portion of our mind, the unconcsious.

Sometimes people, influenced by Sig. Freud call this the "subconscious" which imply that the uncoscious mind is subordinate to the conscious mind. This is incorrect. The unconscious is by far the most powerful component of our dynamic mind which is composite of conscious and unconscious.

Why target the unconcious?

Because the unconcious mind is the biggest factor in our decision making. When you "just grab something" of a shelf, you chose, and your unconscious mind made the choice based on information recieved which you ikely do not remember.

Advertising targets the unconscious for this reason.

It is possible to introduce information into the unconscious below the level of conscious awareness and that information is retained and influences future decision making.

Binocular rivalry is not the only tactic used, but it is easy to explain how as long as there is a moving image in the dominant eye, only that image impact awareness. The image or text presented to the other eye is retained - but not consciously.
