The Hidden World of the Knights Templar

In 1120, Christian knights had just captured Jerusalem in the First Crusade. But even while the holy city was safe, the pilgrimage routes to get there were not. Travellers were routinely attacked, robbed and even killed.

A handful of knights took monastic vows and devoted themselves to protecting the pilgrims and their routes. In return, the king of Jerusalem gave them headquarters on the Temple Mount. The Knights Templar was born and they were soon world-renowned for their courage.

Goal was to retake the Holy Land / Jerusalem from the Moslems. Pilgrims followed in the wakeโ€ฆalthough some made the pilgrimage even during Moslem occupation. There are some fascinating books on the topic, just be sure you find the ones written pre-1960.

Good starting point. But Hodge isn't a historian, she's got a degree in fine arts. I prefer to read authors who are heavy duty experts on particular topics, and who wrote in the years prior to the cultural marxist infiltration of history telling.

>symbols are not easily understood unless put into context, the bigger the context the more accurate understanding of the symbol

Exactly! And that's why reading history is so important. Gotta' have the context. Not all symbols are "bad" or "evil." It's how they're used, who's using them, and for what purpose. Cabal hijacks them for their own purpose, mirrors them.
