I knew a lot of black fraternity members in college (1990s). To the best of my knowledge, only one fraternity did branding and that was the omega psi phi fraternity, and they still used the old fashioned method of hot iron. And they are always very clear/easy to read.

When I look at the mark on Michelle, it reads as it’s either a scar from a more conventional injury OR it was a brand that was surgically removed. It’s too messy otherwise.
