Q's recent post (>>2768429) brings up Hussein's $1.7B to Iran again. So I went looking again. Missed this the first time around, but in addition to the cash and freeing of AMCITs, seven Iranian Americans were 'freed'. However, they were NOT deported - and were allowed to stay in this country even though they were convicted not just of conspiring with Iran, but with Russia and China as well.
In the same post, Q asks why the money wasn't wire transferred. Guess what? It was! The Treasury IG responded to a letter from Orrin Hatch and outlined the process.
