I think Q's statement about how it will cause us irrevocable damage moving forward if certain things are released is related to Israel and their influence in events re: 9/11 and others.

Our countries are inexplicably linked and they are our main US ally in the ME, and the US comparatively had a very large Jewish population. So disclosing these things would hold us back, allow Islamic Fundamentalism to grow, and reduce national cohesion if most Americans wanted war with Israel. So it must stay buried.
