Police did not elaborate on what occurred.

The incident occurred just before noon and Balboa High School, Leadership High School and James Denman Middle School were all placed on lockdown, according to a tweet sent out by the San Francisco Police Department.

Authorities are creating a media staging area at the intersection of Onondaga and Cayuga avenues.
