Thorium is less pollutant and more abundant but you are probably right. Maybe use thorium to recycle spent uranium into usable fuel? Less pollution and more industry and both gets used.
Pretty sure Uranium, they way the US uses it pollutes. France recycles theirs. They train tons of cars under a mountain to store it…
