He just never read the full text so he didn't even notice it, or he just didn't take it as a serious threat, just someone blowing off steam.

However, if the same photographer took another photo a bit further left from the 3 ladies with phones, he would capture where AS was sitting. Other photos from the SOTU show AS looking down as if at a phone.

Where is this other photo? Even if we need a raw version to read text, a non-raw version will show if the phone screen is visible.

Even if the video is not completely legible, it should have enough data to confirm that the screen in the newspapers was photoshopped.
