Satan had his chance and blew it at the beginning. He rages as the prince of this world, knowing that his time is running short and that in the end he will lose, and that the greatest creature in all creation, the Theotokos, has taken his place.
Yet there are also other prophecies that promise full restoration of the (non-corrupt) remnant of the Church.
Many questions here. Prophecy is hard.
