Dozens of MS-13 gang members charged following drug, murder probe, U.S. attorney says

Dozens of MS-13 gang members and affiliates have been hit with charges following a murder and drug trafficking probe, an official in California said.

Two MS-13 gang members were charged with murder in U.S. court and another four with assault. Another 16 people affiliated with MS-13 are facing drug trafficking charges. Additional charges have been filed in state court.

The street gang reportedly terrorized the city of Mendota by taking advantage of an understaffed police department, Sacramento U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott told The Associated Press on Thursday.

Mendota, with a population of roughly 11,000 people, lies 35 miles west of Fresno in California's agriculturally rich Central Valley. Nearly the entire population is Hispanic, with many immigrants from El Salvador.

The probe, according to Scott, also helped solve assaults and killings in Houston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York. A wiretap obtained as part of the probe linked MS-13 gang members to slayings and assaults in those cities, leading to additional people being charged there.

"The nationwide tentacles of this going out from this little town in Fresno County is dramatic," he said.

Mattis Authorizes National Guard Troops To Stay On The Border For Another Year

Defense Secretary James Mattis authorized the National Guard troops deployed to the southwest border to stay there for another year, the Pentagon confirmed Friday.

Mattis granted a 12-month extension of the current deployment order, which authorizes up to 4,000 guardsmen to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents until Sept. 30, the end of the current fiscal year.

The extension permits the same deployment through Sept. 30, 2019, Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Jamie Davis told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“It’s the same mission, the same set up,” Davis said.

The border deployment, dubbed Operation Guardian Support, kicked off April 13 in response to President Donald Trump’s call to use the military to guard against rising illegal immigration. A joint operation with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the mission aims to provide surveillance and logistical support to border agents, freeing them up to interdict drug and human smuggling.

There are currently about 2,200 National Guard soldiers deployed to the four states along the southwest border, Davis said. There are 1,145 soldiers in Texas, 115 in New Mexico, 580 in Arizona and 360 in California.

The border states are contributing the majority of the guardsmen deployed with Guardian Support, while several other states are providing aviation assets. Other states participating in the mission as of June were Missouri, Indiana, Maine, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Florida, reports Stars and Stripes. It remains unclear how the Pentagon will fund a border deployment in the next fiscal year. For the current deployment, Congress granted reprogramming requests that allow the Pentagon to shift hundreds of millions of dollars from the Army’s general account to its personnel account for the National Guard.

The same funding mechanism is expected to be used in FY2019, Davis said.

He coerced Rose through threats and manipulated her through lies and hypnotic suggestions – just like Keith. He turned her against me. Jim could control the young girl. Same tactics used by Keith. These are the true details that happened.

It was a slow calculated brainwash. Brought on by large amounts of alcohol . After the rape, he told her that if she said anything to me or anyone he would have her kicked out of U.S. and never see her child again. Rose coming from the Philippines, living in the poorest conditions, living in a tent with 6 brothers and sisters. She had a daily struggle just for food. Her father had abandoned them. Just another girl taken advantage of by Nxivm. Talking about ethics and how good they are doing helping the world. To get your guard down. So they can then swoop in like Satan and ruin lives and relationships.
