Thomas Sowell debunks the shit out of slavery causing black poverty. The main thing according to him is the minimum wage and the war on poverty, which keeps blacks poor.
The minimum wage hurts the poorest and low/no skilled person by not giving him a chance to build skills while making money.

Interestingly he was a Marxist who got his doctorate under Milton Friedman in economics. Sowell interned for the labor dept and realized that these people had their own agenda for keeping the minimum wage as it kept them employed.
