Above posts show claims of a fireball in the sky just after midnight Wed into Thurs that was visible from as far south as Florida and as far north as New Hampshire, with reported sightings in nine additional states in between. To verify if a fireball did occur, go to the NASA fireball page:

https://fireballs.ndc.nasa.gov/

Click on the desired date (08/30) from the Radar Liveview box on the left (see pic). Scroll through the squares (each square is a separate observing station) until you get a match for the approximate time of sighting (reportedly about midnight). Closest match is 20180830 04:59:21 UTC. Here's a time zone conversion chart for UTC to continental US time zones (daylight savings time):

Two observing stations saw a fireball at that time (see pic).

event SUMMARY ORBIT

To see the video, click on the pic in the desired square, then Open, then Allow. Video will open (if it doesn't, see instructions at top of NASA fireball page). Once the movie opens, click the triangle Play button in the middle of the bottom of the picture (see pic). A target box will outline the fireball and its orbit. Replay as often as desired.

To get a graphic display of the info, click Summary (see pic). The atmospheric position, latitude/longitude, trail info, orbital position, and magnitude of brightness will display.

To get text details on the fireball, click Orbit (see pic). The date, time, latitude, longitude, altitude, and other info will display. Use the latitude and longitude to find the location on a website like https://www.findlatitudeandlongitude.com/?lat=37.4192&lon=-122.057&zoom=10&map_type=G_NORMAL_MAP#.W4mZOeS0XIU

The location at:

lat 32 52 54.552 = 32.8818 deg

lon 252 09 38.988 = 252.1608 deg

shows up in the Atlantic Ocean due south of Massachusetts and due east of South Carolina.

Therefore, this is probably the fireball of the above posts.
