>Operations are moving to Kenya.
why the hell would they consider kenya a safe place? of all the places in the world I would think they'd be going to New Zealand
Do you know anything "boots on the ground" in NZ? I didn't know that they banned foreign ownership. I do know that the natives were pissed because property was unaffordable there.
Do you see the same thing happening to the USA soon?
kek
we are a bunch of fuckers in mommy's basements absorbing and regurgitating information…. indeed, we are highly compartmentalized…. into basements.
The reason why I asked is because I would like to buy a farm and later this year I will get some $$. If foreign ownership is banned from the USA fam prices will drop like a stone. High used to be around $10k-15K per acre, right now it's $5k-12K per acre, same ground in 2000 or just a few years before brought $300-1000 an acre.
I don't want to buy too soon either. Once foreign ownership is banned though…. six months later price of land will be very reasonable again as there are thousands of acres owned by foreign entities, one notable of which is Smithfield.
True. bayer is headed out the door if they can't quash the roundup lawsuits ….. what will happen once the USA is organic again? corporate farmers will be fucked because they'll need far more people on the land than we have.
And you can't tell me that the USA won't be organic again because they did it in Russia and we are headed down the exact same path.
It's coming. I honestly believe it's coming. Listen to Trump speaking in farm country…. he always talks about clean air clean water.
We both know that it can't possibly happen unless all the chemicals are banned.
MAGA…. I don't think either one of us can comprehend what that would really mean on a practical scale for the USA. We'd need thousands more goats, sheep, browsing livestock than we already have, thousands of miles of electric fence, thousands of fence posts……
Put them all back to work again!
where at anon? I'm in the midwest have considered relocation. Have $50K to play with could turn that into $100K flipping a few houses.
awesome, further south than I've been thinking about, thinking about MO Ozarks or AR Ozarks.
Also thinking about renting land and running livestock for a year or two.
Many possibilities.
yep they'll need to have automatic tractors to cultivate all the crops soon
