I wouldn't say the political and law systems are the same. The law side is COMPLICIT, enabling, or at worst, "authorized dissent." The political side makes the laws and pays the legal side. The legal side naturally won't bite the hand that feeds it. Institutionally, both are self-protective and closed clubs.
