>>2832598 (pb) Notable Rabbits in creepy movies.
Starting at about 7:42 you'll see them brand an African man in a corral and then a child. I went to look for this movie because I remember the director, who is also the star, killed a whole lot of rabbits for a scene in the movie.
If you read the script which I did many years ago, he says he killed them because he didn't have enough rabbits for a stampede [?]
That always stuck in my mind.
When I went back to look at it today I found a few things I had forgotten. He associates the Church [Christian Cross] with the Eye of Horus / Eye of Provdience,
Very timely / movie was released in 1970; so it was a product of the '60's
He associates that emblem, Cross and 'Eye of Providence" with the branding of children.
Look between 7:42 and up to 9 minutes.
"El Topo"" means "the Rat" which is the title of the movie.
I always thought it was satire; but as is often with these works which are supposedly satire, if could be just showing off to his friends. So the boldness of the reveal on his part would be a feat.
In looking at the entries on the movie I came across when I searched it. The director admitted the rape scene in the movie was a real rape.
He raped a woman and filmed it as part of the film and it ws a real rape; he wanted the realism, so several articles write.
The movie was filmed in Mexico. John Lennon and his wife Oh No, bought the film and showed it in New York and created a sensation with it, back in the day. And they funded the next movie of this same director Alejandro Jodorowsky called "Holy Mountain"
In case no one knows, "John Lennon" aka "Mark Staycer" is/was a Satanist, per circumstantial evidence.
Loves to joke, as they all do.

"Edition screened: Included in Anchor Bay 4-DVD/2-CD set The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky, released 2007. Spanish language with English subtitles. Runtime approximately 125 minutes.
Summary: Graphic depictions of dead and dying animals.
Details:
1) At 3:45, El Topo enters a bloodied village littered with slain humans and graphically disemboweled horses.
2) At 59:00, a black bird stands on a dead domestic white rabbit, the latter having blood trails coming from its eye sockets. This scene comes with no warning, immediately after a whipping victim’s wounds are kissed by a second woman and the two embrace in the desert. The dead white rabbit scene leads to El Topo entering the camp of a man who lives among dozens of uncaged domestic rabbits, some alive, some dead, and some in the throws of death. The dying rabbits are profuse and their agony clearly is real. The scene ends with a quick presentation of two butchered birds."
