Native American Code of Ethics
Notice how they advise you to pray to God
In private
Not in a church
In front of a crowd
To show off how holier than thou you are
Just find a quiet place
Or a quiet time
And be together
Just you with God,

Preparedness…
Everyone needs water
Store it
Take the time in September
To study your family's needs
Recognize that in event of an emergency
Water is only for drinking
And food prep
No bathing
Everybody stinks together
Food is easier
Because you can go a week
With no food and not die
But store that too
Focus on stuff that does not require cold storage
And that does not require cooking
Oatmeal can be eaten raw
And dressed up with a bit of sugar
And some liquid to soak it for 10 minutes first
But you really can eat it straight with no prep
Flour, well…. if you were starving, so let's not go there
Cracker breads keep well if the climate is not very humid
Mild cheddar cheese
Will slowly transform
To medium, to old, to extra-old, and then
To scrape off the mold, and live with the granules
That form and the sharp taste that makes you wish
You had oatmeal or a cracker bread to eat it with
So plan how you will consume the foods
How you will prep them if gas and electricity go off
How you will eat the contents of the fridge first
Then work through the freezer
And then to the dried foods.
I'm told that instant coffee in cold water
Tastes just fine
Think it through, measure what your family consumes
And then get prepared, locally
