Things to prep:

If you have ever lived in a house without water, you know what a complete hell it can become in a matter of days:

Is your house already clean? Clothes already washed? Dishes kept washed? Surfaces wiped down?

Trash removed?

Do you own a full bottle of bleach?

Is your first aid kit up to date?

Is your car's gas tank as full as you can keep it? Do you have a LOCKING gas cap?

WATER WATER WATER!

You may have to fill your bathtub in a hurry, be prepared to do that. Train your family to do that in case you are not at home at the time.

Clean your bathtub thoroughly, now.

Keep your wastebaskets clean, as they may become spare water containers in a hurry.

Identify plastic bins that can hold water now. Plastic storage bins? Plastic drawers?

After the presidential alert hits everyone's phones, going to the store is just a good way to get shot/mobbed.

A 50 pound sack of pintos is $70-$100. This plus a sprouting jar could save your family's life.

($6 for a set of lids that fit mason jars.)

Vitamins C,D and B-Complex.

Also, remember, your daily commute home could become a massive traffic jam of people fleeing breakdown of law and order in the cities that result in them abandoning their cars. Make sure your family know to shelter in place and NOT to go looking for you.

Wear comfortable walking shoes to work if you can manage it.

Train them to secure the house and not go outside when it happens. Windows shut and blinds closed.

If one of your children becomes a hostage to a would be intruder looking for resources, your whole family could be murdered.

Got a pet? They shit inside or live outside until law and order is restored.

Anons, post your hints, and we can create a meta post that points to all of them.

Such a thing is still unexplored territory.

We have minimized the need for warehouses with computerized on-demand supply chains.

These chains are basically the cardiovascular system of our country.

"Hey, what happens if we stop the heart for a day/week?"

Untested experiment.

Anyway. My prep is only on the scale of for about a month.

Yes, you'll need that much water.
